It’s been quite cinema-intensive lately. But the most thrilling “experience” has been watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in Kinepolis, Friday, November 25.
I believe the age of arcades is long gone. The age of hellishly difficult videogames at 25c a try. Amongst these arcades, shooters are probably some of the most difficult, and I used to think I was quite good because I could beat a few (like Sky Soldiers or Terra Cresta) with a single coin.
But beating a shooter is one thing. And mastering Ikaruga (the most difficult shooter EVER) is quite another. And playing it single-handed is another. And playing it in two player mode, each player with one hand, is quite another.
And this guy does it. Masterfully.
Please, don’t stop watching after the first minute. It’s worth watching it in full. If there’s anything like ballet in arcade videogaming, this is it, folks.

Yes, that’s me.
The iPod (60Gb) finally arrived last wednesday. The first impression is, of course, that of a wonder of technology. The careful packaging, the perfect design, the (somewhat) huge screen, the weight of quality… and the nice laser engraving. Pure l33tness.
I missed it at the theatres, but finally I managed to see Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory about a week ago.
Almost two weeks without updates… ugh. Too much work and getting home past 22h almost everyday are the cause… anyway, tonight I decided to send everything to h*ll, sit on the sofa with my laptop, opened a bottle of Brut cava (my favourite) I had been saving for a long time, and I think I’ll spend some time blogging things and answering long-time due e-mails.
So welcome back. Sorry for the lack of updates.
(About time, I might add). Yay.
Now, the long wait.
Update: Nov. 22nd, and still “Not yet shipped”. Ahrrrrrr!
And they said programming was boring. Enter C-Jump

Maybe I should try it I-know-where and some people would FINALLY learn how to program. Oh well, probably not.

P.D. Take a look at the Google AdSense advertisement on the right side of the previously linked page. Update: Too late, it has changed now. It was about droping cocaine additcions. Very appropriate.
So… you’ve got Alone in the Dark (the video game) and it’s great, and it’s got a plot so you can try to make it into a “movie.” Right. There you have Tomb Raider, too. So Doom also has SOMEWHAT of a plot… alright. And Halo. And a few others. But… Tekken??? Didn’t these people learn what happens when you try to “adapt” a mostly plotless fighting game?
What’s next, pac-man? Pong?
Update: OH MY GOD. It can’t be true.
