Finally, it seems Blade Runner will be released on DVD in September. About time. (Up to now, all there was was an undubbed version with dismal quality).
And it seems they are doing it the proper way. They are releasing a shiver-inducing “25th anniversary Final Cut edition”, which is supposedly Ridley Scott’s final, his-way edition. If he was George Lucas, he’d be making Deckard shoot first (not) and start spreading all kinds of nonsense like “this is the only movie that exists for me and the previous ones are dogshit and will never be released”. Someone must have learned a lesson, because:
After a limited theatrical release, the newly spruced-up “Runner” will be released in a multidisc special edition DVD that also will include the original theatrical cut, the expanded international theatrical cut and the 1992 director’s cut.
Guess who will be buying it day one, no matter how much it costs?
After thinking about it for many months, I’ve finally dropped out from the gym.
I’ve been in for more than three and a half years, and it is a long time ago that I lost my motivation. I used to go 4 times a week. Now I barely go once. Not only it’s that I have less time, but also that they dropped all the activities I liked most (like cardiobox), and the teachers I liked most are no longer working there. In one word, it’s terribly BORING and even though I know it’s good for my health, I don’t feel like paying so much to do something that bores me to no end.
Add to the mix a few of draconian practices and a few of other annoyances for a gymnasium of this level…
Fortunately, summer is coming and I feel like cycling and playing padel. We’ll se what happens after that.
I hardly can wait. Tonight is the season 2 finale of Lost, with a double episode.
It looks impressive from the (always decieving) preview… and probably I’ll be disappointed. But what the hell… it airs in a few hours in the States, and tomorrow morning Bittorrent will be my friend. Yay.
At least for once, the highest quality song wins Eurovision despite the type of music (hard rock) and the fact that it was played by orcs. Lordi wins with “Hard Rock Hallelujah”.
I know I’ve had Fuckowski linked from my blog from a long time ago. I even want to buy his book (Fuckowski: Memories of an Engineer), which I’ve partly read and is nice, and I feel somewhat related to him, both from the perspective of an engineer and from the perspective of someone that thinks about the bitterness of the way things “work” in real life.
“As for you, my galvanized friend, you want a heart. You don’t know how lucky you are not to have one. Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable.”
Finally, Guitar Hero was out today and of course, I picked it up.
To make a long story short, if you’ve ever player the air guitar while listening to any rock band this game is going to OWN you. If you’ve got a PS2, go get it. It’s truly awesome.
Someday all of us will start charging for the time spent in shit like this, and some people will have to learn how to use Google and the on-line help. Or just learn.
