In 12 hours I’ll be headed for the airport. It’s time to pack and think if you’ve got everything… this time I’m not taking a laptop with me, but I have the feeling that I am missing something.

(Side note: Why doesn’t WordPress 2.0 allow you to choose the size of thumbnails? I hate it.)
Notice the charger-totem-pole on the right hand side. And the fact that I’m taking the camera with which I took the picture with me also.
Will 120 movies do, or maybe I should take a few more? Hmmmmmm…
Anyway, it seems I’ll be having Internet and a PC in the place I’m staying, so… I might update the blog from time to time. Advices are welcome.
Have a lot of fun… and see you on August 9th.
The trip to Paris was the perfect excuse, and now it’s finally arrived.

After a lot of reading and searching, I came to the conclusion that it was not the right time for a DSLR. So I was in for a prosumer camera, and ended up deciding between Sony H5 and Canon S3-IS. I am completely satisfied with my now venerable Canon IXUS 400, and even though the Sony had an unbelievable 3.0″ TFT, I have ended up with the Canon after seeing the samples in DPReview. It’s something I can’t explain, but compared to the Sony samples, these had a life on their own. On the other hand, I was not very eager to take the plunge and buy overprized Memory Sticks when I could get a 150x 2Gb SD card for 54€.
We’ll see… I’ll have the chance to thoroughly test it in the coming days, so stay tuned…
Well… a week has passed and he‘s gone.
It’s weird. As I said before, having to take care of him is a nuisance and a limitation. But I miss him. A lot. I miss going everywhere and not having him walking in front of you, his head turned, trying to guess where are you going next and if you’re going to drop him any food. I’ve been missing that all the evening… I’ve been missing him under my desk, staring at me and trying to keep physical contact all the time, even if contact is just to sit and lean slightly on my feet. And I know tomorrow I will miss his welcome when I get home.
Somehow everything is more silent today. Even though he didn’t make any noise during its stay.
Since there’s not much people I can count on for holidays (no, not with you either), I’ve been moving my strings and finally there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel. To begin with, I’m going to be in Paris for 12 nights, beginning July 28th. Then I’m going to try to take the AOWD course when I come back. And depending on mood, money, time and if I’ve been able to take the AOWD course, I might make a one week cruise around Ibiza and Formentera, scuba-diving, relaxing and having a lot of fun.
Up to now, Paris is the only thing that’s for sure. But if everything comes out just fine, it could be the summer of my life in terms of holidays. Fingers crossed.
The boy is here.

I’m taking care of my family’s dog these days. It’s a pain in the ass having to be always thinking about walking him, giving him his medicines (he’s very, very old), caring that he does not poo-poo accidentally in the house, and all that stuff… but he pays it back a thousand fold.
Unlike most people.
I’m gonna really miss him the day he passes away…
So… you think you’re a good programmer? Can you write a Quake-like, DirectX 9 game with 5 weapons, a bunch of enemies, sound, music, controls and detailed textures… in just 96Kb TOTAL?
Some people does.

Enjoy.

Just like many other fans of sci-fi and horror movies, Alien has alway been one of my favourite movies/franchises of all time.
Just like anyone else, I think that the original Alien is a masterpiece, that Aliens is a superb action/horror movie, and that Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection mostly suck.
But let me ellaborate, since a couple days ago I couldn’t resist temptation and finally purchased the Alien Quadrilogy DVD set. Get ready for a LONG post.

Buy me one of these.

Only for The Godfather fans out there.

As I said in the previous post, last week during the Summer School we had a trip to Almagro with long bus hours.
I was very tired during the trip, and I took naps from time to time to compensate for the nights going out and the all-too-comfortable residence we were sleeping in. But the rest of the time, I devoted to play some games on the DS and listening to music on the iPod.
And while listening to music, I found one of those rare songs that seem to make you feel something special. One of those songs that seem to mean something for you, one of those songs you can’t help but listening to over and over again. And no matter where you are, you feel there’s nothing but you and that song. Even if you’re in a bus, your head pressed against the window.
